10 warm and cozy demos to check out during Steam Next Fest October 2026

I love October. It’s the start of fall, the nights get darker, the leaves start going brown and crunchy, and I can finally pull out my comfy sweaters again. I also love cozy games, and October is the perfect time of year to enjoy them. That means October Next Fest, and all the cozy demos it brings to the table, is the perfect excuse to find something new.
But there are a lot of possibilities in the 2026 lineup, and trying to find the perfect cozy game feels like looking for a needle in a haystack. If you’re wanting something to curl up with but don’t know where to start, here are 10 cozy gems hiding in the list of demos this Steam Next Fest.
Alpine Lake

I first played the Alpine Lake demo way back in mid 2025, and I instantly fell in love with the cozy small-town charm and art style. It’s a 3D farm sim meets inn management game with a focus on narrative and helping out the local town with whatever they happen to need. Of course that means you become the go-to for pretty much everything, but that’s expected with any farm sim.
The inn is at the center of everything in Alpine Lake, and you get to design it from the ground up. You can make it as simple or as complicated as you like, as long as the people who come to stay get good customer service and you manage to feed them well with home-grown produce.
Alpine Lake is being developed by Mossy Grove Games and is due to release in Q1 2027. If you love farm sims, the demo of this gorgeous game is well worth checking out.
Pieceful

If you’re looking for a little peace and quiet in your gameplay, there are few better options than a virtual jigsaw puzzle. Better still, Pieceful lets you reconnect with nature now that the days are getting colder. Pieceful is a 3D wooden puzzle simulator that focuses on building wooden animals and bringing them to life in befitting biomes
There’s everything from rabbits in the woodland to intricate jellyfish in the marine biome, although the demo only features the woodland biome. It’s enough to give you an excellent taste of things to come, though, and it’s incredibly relaxing to piece the parts together and then fill the area with adorable critters.
Pieceful is being developed by Dazard Studio, but there is no release date for the full game yet. The demo is short but sweet, and you can play it now on Steam.
Seaside Wash

Seaside Wash is a cozy pixel cleaning game by BitCover that puts you in the shoes of a monkey with a comically stretchy arm and has you cleaning barnacle-encrusted boats that show up at the dock. It’s adorable, filled with charm, and possibly one of the most satisfying cleaning demos I’ve played in a while.
It’s a fairly recognizable gameplay loop by this point: thing comes in dirty, use your tools to clean the thing, thing goes away clean and fresh while you get paid for your effort. But while other games of the type are arming you with pressure washers, Seaside Wash gives you a sponge and an arm that stretches to reach everywhere you need to.
Seaside Wash doesn’t have a release date just yet, but the demo is available to play on Steam right now!
Flight Date

I enjoy doing puzzles in my downtime, but logic puzzles have never really been my forte. Still, Flight Date makes them remarkably enjoyable and undeniably cozy with cute art and a theme that I am intimately familiar with: planning air travel. I fly pretty often, and I know that planning air travel is stressful, but Flight Date removes the stress with fun little puzzles and cute stories.
Two people need to get to the same place so they can meet, but they start in two different places. You need to work within a budget, using available flights, to get both people to the destination at the same time. Sometimes it’s a straight-through flight; other times they need to make a couple of changes, but either way, they have to get where they need to be.
Flight Date is set to release at some point in 2027 and is being developed by Chirp Chirp Games. The demo is available right now to try, and it throws several surprisingly challenging puzzles your way to solve.
Boku Boku

Boku Boku is a building-block world that gives you complete creative control over your own space, letting you create whatever you like using the blocks provided. It’s what you’d get if you took Minecraft’s creative mode and made it entirely 2D. It’s been around on mobile platforms since 2019, but now it’s coming to Steam.
You don’t need to gather materials, and there is nothing to fight; just an absolutely open world of creativity for you to do with as you please. Want to get back to nature and build a forest? Sure. Want to create the blocky castle interior of your dreams? Absolutely! There are no limits to what you can do in Boku Boku except your imagination.
The full Steam version of Boku Boku is being developed by Pixticle and is set to release on November 3, 2026, and the demo is available now.
Cluckopia

Cluckopia, by Andre Themistocles, is what you get when you take Minecraft and sand off the harsh edges, then add some chickens into the mix as the main characters. It’s adorable, and while there is some combat to worry about, it’s mostly an adventure tale with farm sim elements and plenty of scope for creativity.
The main story in Cluckopia is about a sibling kidnapping and one little chicken’s quest to rescue his sister from the clutches of whoever took her. To do that, he needs to find a few “legendary roosters”, learn their speciality abilities, and work his way through a blocky world towards his sister. But, with that said, you can pretty much ignore the story for the most part in favor of exploring and levelling up your skills; that’s up to you.
Cluckopia doesn’t have a release date yet, but if you want to get to know this little chicken and explore his blocky world, the demo is available now on Steam.
Sudokiller

Sudokiller is a puzzle game by Tranqui Games that somehow manages to make murder cozy, and I mean that in the best possible way and not in the psychopathic way it first comes across. It’s cozy because of the art style and the lack of pressure, not because, you know, people are dying.
Anyway, in Sudokiller, you have a bunch of characters (including a victim), and a grid-based board in which they all need to be placed according to the descriptions of their whereabouts at the time of the crime. It seems simple until you realize these descriptions can be as vague as “this person was in the same room as a plant,” and there are three rooms with plants in them.
Sudokiller is scheduled to release on October 30, 2026, and it’s the perfect cozy puzzle game for fall evenings. If you want to try it out before then, the demo is available on Steam.
Hokko Spaces

Hokko Spaces is an adorable 3D sandbox design game by Wonderscope Games that gives you anthropomorphised animals and space to build them a perfect getaway spot. You can build the world using grass, sand, water, or dirt, and then place a ton of adorable decorations to bring the space to life.
There’s no pressure in Hokko Spaces, at least not in the demo. The animals don’t come to you with requests that need to be completed or problems to solve; they just want somewhere pretty to hang out and relax. You can take photos of your created spaces, add filters to make them really pop, and share them with the world.
Hokko Spaces doesn’t have a release date yet, but the demo is newly available on Steam for anyone who wants to relax and let creativity take over. There’s even a competition running until the end of October that could net you a Steam key for the full game when it releases!
Bottled by Bears

Bottled by Bears is an adorable nature-themed, slow-paced cozy game, and it is packed with charm. You control a family of bears as they run their honey farm, gradually adding more bees to make more honey that can then be sold to passersby. The mom and dad bears deal with the hives, which is the responsible choice, while the children man the honey stall at the front of the property. It’s a proper family business.
What stands out most in Bottled by Bears is the mechanic that introduces new bees to the hives: card packs. Every new bee is a card, including shiny and hex variants that produce higher-quality honey, which scratches a really specific itch for me. There are also endless small achievements and goals that leave you feeling like you’ve accomplished something.
Bottled by Bears is being developed by Monoii Studio and is scheduled to be released on November 11, 2026. The demo is an excellent taster of the type of addictive, slow-paced activities this adorable game will bring, and you can play it now on Steam.
Shiki Tea House

Many people around the world would agree that there is nothing more cozy and relaxing than curling up with a nice cup of tea. I can’t say I agree, because hot tea is not my… cup of tea, but I acknowledge the fact that I’m a weirdo in that regard. Shiki Tea House is all about growing, mixing, and serving tea to customers inside a tea shop, and it is absolutely lovely.
There’s an element of farm sim to Shiki Tea House, because you need to buy seeds and plant them, watering them at every stage, until they eventually become ingredients for use in speciality teas. You can also upgrade your skills by visiting Akisumi Hill, which really makes things easier in the long run.
Shiki Tea House is currently in development by PP Studio and is due for release at some point in Q1 2027. If you’re a tea fan, or simply want to enjoy some relaxing time running your own tea shop, the demo is available now.
